St. Joseph Community Gardens

Our Growth, Our Giving

St. Joseph Community Gardens' goal is to supply local neighborhoods considered "food deserts" with sustainable life skills to produce their own organic produce.

We provide free seeds through our Seed Hub distribution to families interested in growing their own gardens and support our growing list of community gardens

with seasonal starts every spring from the SJCG greenhouse.

Let's Grow Together St. Joseph!

Midtown Saint Joseph is where it's at; literally, our community gardens are cropping up as we speak. Raised garden beds are filled and we are eagerly awaiting harvest days. We'd love to have you stop by and see our progress and perhaps lend a hand?

Why is the garden called Three Sisters? According to Iroquois legend, the “three sisters” are corn, squash and beans. Corn stalks support the climbing bean vines searching for sunlight. Grown with squash, they offer a balanced diet for the soil from a single planting. The three sisters nourished the indigenous people of America. Today, with your help, they will nourish the people of St.  Joseph.
